Commercial Food Processors
Knowing the ins and outs of a product is an important step before purchasing. When you know all about a food processor you may decide you have to have it. A food processor is one of the most versatile tools your kitchen can contain and without one your kitchen will be lacking.
What do food processors do? The better question might be, what don't they do. Consider how much time and labor it takes when using the traditional methods of chopping, grating, and kneading. Professional and home cooks alike can relate to the time spent doing this. The food processor has virtually eliminated all the labor involved and drastically reduces your preparation time, all if you can push a button.
How Does It Work?
A motor drives a vertical shaft turning a blade which chops, blends, or purees the food. The blade is positioned at the bottom of the bowl using gravity to keep the larger heavier pieces at the bottom and the smaller pieces rise up or to the sides. This action can be started, stopped or pulsed to achieve the desired result. Often multiple blades are included for things like shredding and slicing.
